How to

Get the most out of your AMS.

Everything you need to connect, calibrate, and live with your soundbar — taken straight from the user manuals that ship in the box.

01

Getting started

Power on.

Plug the soundbar's power cable into a wall socket (AC 110–240 V). The display glows and you'll hear a short prompt tone — that's the confirmation that you're live.

If you have the flagship home theatre, plug the wireless subwoofer in at the same time — they'll find each other automatically.

Long-press the POWER button on the side panel to fully cycle power.

02

Connect to your TV

Four ways in, one to reach for first.

HDMI ARC is always the best choice if your TV has it — it carries control, lip-sync timing, and full audio. The others are good backups.

  • Display: ARC

    HDMI (ARC)

Preferred. Plug an HDMI cable from the ARC-marked port on your TV into HDMI (ARC) on the back of the soundbar. Press MODE on the remote until the display reads ARC.

  • Display: OPT

    Optical

Run an optical cable from the optical-out of your TV, Blu-ray player, DVD or console into OPTICAL on the soundbar. Press MODE until the display reads OPT.

  • Display: AUX

    AUX-IN (3.5 mm)

Use the included audio line to connect the TV's headphone jack to AUX-IN on the soundbar. Press MODE until the display reads AUX.

  • Display: BT

    Bluetooth

Wireless. Press MODE until the display reads BT, then pair from your phone or laptop.

03

Other devices

Blu-ray, consoles, laptops.

Anything with optical-out, a 3.5 mm jack, or Bluetooth will play through the bar.

Game console

Optical out → OPTICAL on the bar. Press MODE to OPT. No input lag in our testing across PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch.

Blu-ray / DVD

Optical is cleanest — same cable and same MODE → OPT step as above. HDMI pass-through works if your player supports it.

Laptop / phone

Skip the cable. Follow the Bluetooth pairing flow below. Note: Bluetooth is mono-LC3 quality — use a cable for critical listening.

04

Bluetooth

Pair in thirty seconds.

  1. Step 01

    Switch to Bluetooth

Press MODE on the remote repeatedly until the soundbar display reads BT and starts flashing — that means it's waiting for a pairing.

  2. Step 02

    Find AMS on your device

On your phone, tablet or laptop, open Bluetooth settings. You'll see your AMS soundbar listed by its model name on the back panel. Tap it to pair.

  3. Step 03

    Start playing

Once connected, the display stops flashing and stays lit. Play anything — music, podcast, video — and use ⏮ ⏭ on the remote to skip tracks.

05

Wireless subwoofer

Pair the wireless subwoofer.

The 5.1 surround soundbar uses a wired subwoofer connection — this section applies to the compact 2.1 soundbar and the flagship home theatre.

  1. 01

    Automatic pairing (default)

Soundbar and wireless subwoofer ship pre-paired. Plug both into the wall at the same time and they'll reconnect on their own every time.

  2. 02

    Manual pairing

If the red light on the back of the subwoofer is flashing, it's lost its link. Put the soundbar into Bluetooth mode (MODE until the display shows BT), then long-press MUTE on the remote. The subwoofer LED will turn solid red when paired.

  3. 03

    Double-tap to reconnect

If the PAIR button on the subwoofer gets bumped, the light starts flashing. Double-click that same PAIR button to reconnect instantly — no remote needed.

06

Placement

Where each piece goes.

The short version: soundbar in front, sub on the floor up front, surrounds behind.

  • Soundbar

Wall-mounted under the TV, or on the furniture directly in front of the TV. Keep the top vents clear.

  • Subwoofer

On the floor, alongside the TV — or tucked into a front corner of the room for extra low-end reinforcement.

  • Surround speakers

Behind the listening position, left and right — roughly at ear height when seated, a metre or so out from the walls.

08

Sound modes

Three presets, picked by what you're watching.

  • Movie

Wide soundstage, lifted dialogue, bass you can feel. Default for films and series.

  • Music

Flatter, more honest tuning. Try it first for critical stereo listening.

  • News

Vocal-forward, bass pulled back. Best for talk radio, podcasts, and news broadcasts.

On the flagship home theatre, you can also cycle between 3.1.2 and 5.1.2 channel layouts with the dedicated key on the remote — handy if you haven't yet placed the rear surrounds.
